5 top tips for keeping your head system on check when going on an adventure

When you’ve got a full head of hair again because of your new system, you’ll be brimming in confidence and wanting to go out and explore the world again. Sometimes, though, you don’t want to just go away for a city break, but you might instead want to go on a longer adventure.

Whether it’s hiking the Alps, exploring the Wadi Rum or rowing along the desert, some adventures will require a couple of months at least to do properly. This can pose a challenge to the system wearer – how can I maintain my new luscious hair while on the go and travelling light?

Here’s some top tips for keeping your hair system in check when going on a two-month adventure.

A key investment is to get some clear plastic containers under 100ml from somewhere like Walmart or Amazon (the ecommerce platform, not the river). You can’t put a big tup of shampoo in your hand luggage, and probably don’t want to. In fact, as you’ll see in a moment, you don’t actually need to.

So being able to pour key liquids and gels into these containers frees up space in your luggage and makes things easier at border security too.

To keep your system feeling well-structured and soft, we recommend taking some argon oils and a heat protecting primer.

QAs ever, for top quality hair, we always recommend getting quality shampoos and conditioners. Our biggest tip here, though, goes back to the plastic containers mentioned above.

We typically recommend to use conditioner every couple of days and to only shampoo every five or six days. Everyone’s different, of course, but the main thing is that you probably shouldn’t do a full wash every day.

But if you think about how many times you’ll actually need to wash and condition your hair over a two month period, it’s probably not as many as you’d initially think. As such, filling only a few small containers with your shampoos and conditioners will probably suffice.

Over a two month period, there may be a need to occasionally touch up your hairline or reapply the system. There’s a few things you’ll need for this.

First of all, cotton balls for applying glues and liquids and brushing it off. We recommend taking 10 or 15 balls and compressing them into a fist-sized singular ball. This will make it easier to pack. You should also take some toothpicks and ultra-tapes, but these are easy to pack.

You’ll need to take a scalp protector for certain, and you’ll obviously need to take the glue and solvents themselves.

A utility knife will be useful for cutting any adhesive tape (and useful to have when travelling anyway), while a simple comb will double as your brush for styling and as something to remove any gunk from the adhesives and glues.

In terms of cleaning up, we also recommend pouring some washing liquid (something like Dawn) into one of your smaller containers.

Our last big tip is take your newfound confidence, from wearing a hair system, wherever you may go.

Seeing the world and having an adventure is hugely important for creating memories and improving your mental wellbeing. It can come with challenges though – whether you struggle with homesickness or encounter unforeseen difficulties along the way.

The only person who can deal with these is yourself, and if you’re feeling good about yourself, you can meet any challenge you may encounter head on.
