Short curtain bangs are in right now. As a hair style, they really show off a voluminous head of hair, giving the wearer a suitably scruffy, devil-may-care vibe.
Below are a few tips for how to style a hair system to get them. The method is great for a system you’ve had for a couple of months already. It helps your hair to have a really fresh feel, like when your system is first installed, and that’s due to the conditioning and protein treatment used. There’s a really natural level of bounce to the hair after this process, a silky softness and decent structure which frames your face really well.
The most important point is the drying process. For this style, the key is to just let the hair sit for a bit. Put your hair back and let it dry there. Then, when it’s dry, you can flop the hair back down, and it will have a really silky feel and floppy structure, which is easy to style.
The best thing about this process is that its repeatable and you can use it loads of times with each system.
Remember, that the hair in your system is just that – hair! You can use whatever products work best for you and make sure to take care of it the same way you’d treat any hair, with shampoos and conditioners. You don’t need to use any specific treatments or brands.
So jump in the shower, do your thing, and use a moisturizing shampoo, a conditioner of your choice and a protein hair restructuring treatment. Whatever brands you use, make sure the products are high quality. The better the quality of the hair treatments you use, the newer your hair will feel.
Once you’ve wetted your hair, use a tangle teezer brush to get all your knots out. After straightening out those knots, apply your shampoo and conditioner.
With the conditioner make sure you get to all parts of your hair, particularly the ends. A good tip is to push your hair up and flatten it so that it’s easier to reach all parts.
Let the conditioner sit in your hair for at least a couple of minutes before washing it out. Then apply the hair restructurer in the same way, again leaving it in for a couple of minutes before washing it out.
The hair will already be feeling great after the shower. You’ll now need to block dry the hair, rather than using a blow dryer. This means you should be dabbing your hair with your towel, pressing down on it gently rather than shaking it about aggressively.
This is really important. With a hair system you’ve got to be careful to avoid pulling out hairs.
You can use a regular brush but the best thing is to use another tangle teezer. Start brushing your hair back, so that it’s effectively slicked back.
We recommend using a heat protecting primer and some argon oils. Our top tip is to mix the products together when applying them to your hair.
Don’t use loads – a dime’s worth of the primer and a couple of sprays of the oils should do it. Run them back through your hair.
Hang your hair back and let it dry out naturally. This will allow it to retain more volume.
Once it’s dried out – maybe after 40 minutes or so – you can style the hair with your hands to your heart’s content.
Once completed, you’ll have loads of volume, your hair will feel fresh and you’ll look, and feel, great!
